The Cell Ranger Microprocessor
Cell Ranger products contain a microprocessor that actively analyzes the signals that your cell phone receives. By measuring the cellular reception and signal conditions, it adjusts the amplification to ensure optimum signal for your cell phone.
Cell Ranger supports both cell phones and data cards
We designed Cell Ranger to be compatible with every cellular carrier*, cell phone, and data card. No matter which cellular service you use, voice or broadband data, you’ll see a significant boost in signal when you plug in the Cell Ranger. In most cases you’ll get 2-3 bars more signal within a 6 foot coverage radius. In our tests, using Cell Ranger with a broadband data card resulted in anywhere from 30% to 200% faster download speeds.
* iDEN phones and carriers (Nextel, Southern Linc, MiKE) are not supported by Cell Ranger products.
Cell Ranger is cellular carrier friendly
Cell Ranger was designed to minimally affect the performance of cellular networks. The in-built oscillation control system prevents any possible feedback effects, and ensures that the product does not interfere with the integrity of carrier networks.
PORT and STIX don’t fix "uplink" problems
The downlink signal is the signal your phone receives from the network cell tower and the uplink is the signal your phone send back.
Cell Ranger PORT and STIX amplify only downlink signal. Downlink problems cause around 85-90% of signal problems. You can tell whether you have downlink or uplink problems by the way your phone drops calls.
- STIX and PORT fix downlink problems:
Your phone shows low bars during calls and voice quality is low.
- STIX and PORT do not fix uplink problems:
Your phone shows full signal bars, but your phone drops call immediately upon dialing.

Are Cell Ranger products compatible work with my carrier?
The Cell Ranger PORT and STIX are compatible every US and Canadian carrier, except for iDEN networks (legacy Nextel, Southern LINC, and MiKE). European carriers use different frequency bands are are not supported by our current products.
Are Cell Ranger products compatible with my phone/datacard?
Our products boost both normal voice and 3G data frequency bands, so no matter which cell phone or data card you have, Cell Ranger is compatible.
Carriers and phones using the iDEN technology are the only cellular devices our products don’t support. Nextel, Southern LINC, and MiKE are the only carriers that make use of iDEN technology.
